The band is Justin Krass – Piano and Sam Stauff – Guitar. A evolution stemming from them making music with Wess Meets West and steering away from post-rock towards ambient, subdued new-wave classical music, exploring textures in a minimalistic soundscape incorporating moments of rock and opera.
Among the Pines takes listeners on an emotional rollercoaster, from haunting reflective moods, to intense moments of rock and roll, creating tension and then climactic release, producing a graceful and unforgettable soundscape. A soundscape that is both contagious and pertinent.
