In the Days of Uncertainty

In the days of uncertainty of Covid-19

may my inner most being stand steady.

You are my only shelter and peace, you are

my only guide, you are my only freedom.

In the days of ventilators, hallucinogens

of our worst fears arise, but will I have

strength to say no to that journey

and yes to the journey of possible death.

In the days of sickness and fear

will I hear the call of eternity?

Will some inner base of myself rise

through fire and smoke to still breathe life?

In the days of loss and despair, may I see gain

of consciousness galloping like a blazing horse

through smoke and fog of leaderless confusion

to a basic love and truth of all life.

In the days of search for new ways to connect,

new ways to show love—may we gather

new voice, new vision, fresh ways of being, new

purpose of love, embracing all life as our own.
