Hidden Garden

By Mina Mokhtari

My artwork is called Hidden Garden of Peace & Hope. Roses are peace and tulips are hope. I like many others experience the feeling of uncertainty more often these days because of the uniqueness of the situation our planet is dealing with right now. And to scape this era even for a moment, I reach out to my hidden garden, close my eyes and try to touch the roses and tulips from the bottom part and travel the tiles one by one as we go up. The silkiness of the surface and boldness of the glazes and the fact that they physically stand out from the background, it helps me to use my imagination: what if they are real and smell them and fill my lungs with peace & hope while my eyes are closed.

About the Artist

Mina Mokhtari

I am a 32 year old Iranian-Australian architect and visual artist. I was born and raised in Iran and currently live in Australia. I am incredibly lucky to have experienced & lived the unique & rich culture of Iran and beautiful nature of Australia. I am constantly trying to make a balance between 2 passions of mine fine art & architecture. I like to live my everyday life through my artistic vision and relate everything to the art in some sort, only because I truly find my peace in art specially in this tough time we all are living in!
